National Energy Research Development & Test Center for I&CS in Nuclear Power Plants

The implementation unit of the National Energy Research development & Test Center for I&CS in Nuclear Power Plants.

As a technical institution with more than 50 years of inspection and testing experience, the Institute has obtained the qualification certification and measurement certification of Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China and China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment(CNAS), and seven national level authorizations such as "nationalindustrial automation instrument product quality supervision and inspection center".
On the basis of available capacities of SITTIAS, the instrument testing capabilities are optimized, EMC lab, large environment test equipment and V&V ability for nuclear instruments control system are newly established, joint lab for LOCA test and beta irradiation is also founded under the guidelines of “promotion, establishment and cooperation”.
At the end of 2014, a "one-stop" test and verification platform for the first-class domestic and internationally leading nuclear power instrumentation and control electrical products has been basically built, covering the technical requirements of the second generation plus and the third generation nuclear power. All the test capabilities were approved by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and have been approved by the three major nuclear power design institutes and engineering companies, National Nuclear instrumentation, China nuclear control, and 719 institutes , heavy materials Institute, SITIIAS, Jiangyin Zhonghe, Ningbo Aoqi, ABB and other instrument control product manufacturers have provided dozens of "one-stop" quality appraisal services for instrument control products.

1、Qualification and technical ability

2、Instrument performance test capability
The laboratory capacity covers the capacity of product performance test such as flow, temperature, pressure, liquid level, speed, valve, actuator, display instrument, electrical instrument, etc. it is the birthplace of instrument detection technologies about flow, temperature, valve and so on in China. The laboratory undertake the research, standardization of test technology and a large number of performance test services for nuclear power plant instrument equipment.

3、Environmental test capability
The capacity of the laboratory covers high temperature, low temperature, damp heat, temperature change, temperature shock, thermal oxygen aging, salt fog, shell protection (dust-proof, water-proof), mildew, sulfur dioxide corrosion, insulation resistance, insulation strength and other climate environmental tests. Meanwhile, it covers composite tests such as mechanical vibration, mechanical impact, collision, roll, fall and overturn, drop, temperature and humidity and mechanical vibration. It has undertaken a large number of environmental testing services for various products of nuclear power plants.
4、EMC test capability
EMC test room has a 10m method semi anechoic chamber, a 3m method semi anechoic chamber and eight shielding chambers. Meanwhile, it is equipped with test system like full-automaticelectromagnetic interference and electromagnetic sensitivity, and test devices for electrostatic, electrical fast transient pulse group, surge, magnetic field, harmonic, conduction emission, etc. The test capability of EMC laboratory conforms to the latest international and national standards (such as IEC、CISPR、IEEE、MIL、EN、FCC、ANSI、ETSI、VCCI、GB, etc.), and it is a laboratory with first-class domestic and advanced international level. The overall detection frequency range of the laboratory is 20Hz to 40GHz, whose coverage is the widest. It meets the test requirements of the third-generation nuclear power technology (AP1000,CAP1400, HUALONG-1, etc.), and is also one of the few laboratories in China that simultaneously covers civil standards such as IEC and military standards of MIL. It has undertaken a number of major national nuclear power projects, carried out research on the electromagnetic environment of nuclear power plants, is familiar with the actual requirements and layout of nuclear power plant systems, and has a valuable electromagnetic interference database. It has undertaken a large number of EMC testing business for nuclear power equipment, including transmitters, sensors, electric actuators, detectors, analyzers, DCS sampling system, water treatment system, main control panel, etc. In 2011, we successfully completed the first set of equipment quality appraisal of Westinghouse AP1000 project domestic.

5、Software Verification and Validation (V&V)
Based on the research of IEEE, IEC and IAEA standards, a V&V technology method for safety and related software of instrumentation and control system of nuclear power plant has been established, and become an open, impartial and independent third-party software V&V certification platform with international advanced level. In May 2014, the embedded software verification and validation project of ABB's SPAJ142 and SPAM 150C general protection relay undertaken by the Testing Institute completed the acceptance of technical achievements of the National Energy Administration: for the first time, China's institutions independently completed the verification and validation activities of class a pre development software, filling in the domestic gap, which has important industry demonstration significance.
6、Loss of coolant accident (LOCA) test capability
This laboratory was built together with Shanghai Cable Research Institute. In May 2011, LOCA test device passed the technical appraisal of National Energy Administration: the device is novel and has reached the international advanced level, which is of great significance to promote the localization of nuclear power equipment in China. At the end of 2011, LOCA laboratory passed the approval of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS).
The main technical parameters and characteristics of LOCA test device are as follows:
◆Test temperature: 280°C
◆Pressure designed: 1.25MPa
◆Test chamber No.1: Ф1200×1200mm,1.35m3
◆Test chamber No.2: Ф1800×1700mm,4m3 ◆It has the functions of rapid temperature rise, temperature regulation, pressure regulation, chemical solution spray, etc.
LOCA has undertaken a large number of products for nuclear power instruments, cables, valves, coatings.

7、test capability of irradiation
The radiation laboratory was established together with Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics. The co constructed irradiation laboratory can realize two functions of γ - ray irradiation test and β - ray irradiation test. In June 2014, the newly built beta irradiation test device passed the acceptance of technical achievements of the National Energy Administration: the device meets the qualification test of AP1000 and other three generations of nuclear power equipment, fills in the domestic gap in the field of beta irradiation test of nuclear power plant equipment qualification, reaches the international leading level, has wide applicability, creates conditions for carrying out scientific research tests in related technical fields, and promotes China's nuclear power electrical equipment localizing is of great significance.
